Modern
Over the years I have been working on several modern projects, guitars which deviate from traditional archtop design. These instruments have typically featured wood binding instead of plastic, modern shaped soundholes in the place of traditional f-holes, and have shed their pearl inlay and non-resonant materials to realize a cleaner, more streamlined look.
These instruments have been designed from specific points of departure, be they art-deco, minimalist, or (coming soon) art nouveau. They have been designed sometimes with specific players, and always with specific tonal goals in mind. My aim has always been tone first with these instruments; they are made with the best woods that I am able to procure, and are produced one at a time.

Thus far in the modern series of Trenier guitars,
I have created the Magnolia Classic, a tip of the hat to Jimmy
D'Aquisto's New Yorker Classic, stripping the guitar of all non
resonant materials such as pearl and plastic, creating an acoustically
pure instrument.

Second came the Rosine, an art deco design that
I wanted to do for some time and finally executed for a guitar
show in 2007.

When one of my customers saw the Rosine, he requested
something along those lines, but a bit closer to the D'Aquisto
Avant Garde. This was the genesis of 2008's Rosine 2.
