At the request of just about all the modern jazz players I come across, I finally decided to make an electric guitar. Rather than work with a laminate body (as seems to be the norm these days), I opted for all solid woods. My reasoning is simple – laminate guitars, even if they have the best pickup in the world, still sound exactly as they are – a good pickup mounted in a piece of plywood. I wanted the best tone I could imagine, so I chose the best pickup I could find and matched it up with an all solid carved body, in order to enhance the tone of the pickup with the woody resonance of the sound chamber.

In an attempt to cancel out low frequency feedback, the Model E comes with a removable interior sound post, held in place by the bridge under string tension. When in place, plate vibration is lessened and feedback minimized, and when removed acoustic volume is enhanced, and the pickup takes on a whole new dimension.

The Electric is pictured with a Lollar "Charlie Christian" style pickup, which has a tremendous tonal palette, from bright and crisp to the deep, solid tone of Mr. Christian himself.
