"I first
experienced Bryant's guitars at a luthier's gathering in Healdsburg,
CA. I came around a corner, looked to my left, and there was
this lovely 18" blonde archtop with a bold, grand, well-designed,
striking and stirring headpiece, and soundholes like some Jimmy
D'Aquisto had done in the 1970s, and again on his later Avante
Garde model. I was immediately drawn to the mood of the instrument
and unconsciously burst into a smile. With a unique combination
of gratitude and peace I was focused with the sense that the
development of the archtop was on the right pathway - that Jimmy's
ideas had inspired someone who had their own gift and vision
to bring to archtop artistry, and that on a number of levels,
authenticity had been honored.
Several months later I had the opportunity to experience that guitar for the better part of a month, and from the very beginning it had an atmosphere that I really enjoyed - a deep and lively vibe that continued to allure me. All of the 'normal' things were present - exemplary workmanship, materials, fit and finish - but it was the overall mood that continued to engage me and encouraged me to play it. The only thing I didn't enjoy about my experiences with that guitar was the sending of it back to Bryant. But I was left with the sense that though young in years, this fellow had a gift - a real connection with the instrument and its history, and that his creations would make a real contribution to the realm of fine musical instruments."
